Cox has said it will support existing Homelife customers only until October 22, 2026. Line up your replacement now so your home is never unmonitored.
Is Cox Homelife really being discontinued?
Yes. Cox stopped selling Homelife to new customers in 2024 and has since moved to supporting existing devices only. Cox representatives have told customers that support for existing Homelife accounts ends on October 22, 2026, and Homelife service can't be transferred to a new home or a new account holder in the meantime.
For thousands of Orange County households that bundled security with their Cox internet or TV, that means the system protecting their home has an end date. Once Cox support stops, nobody is on the other end when an alarm goes off. No call to the police department, no fire dispatch, no one checking on you.
The good news: you don't have to go without protection, and you don't have to figure this out alone. Alarm Central has been switching Orange County homeowners from discontinued and outdated systems for decades, and we've built a simple path specifically for Cox Homelife customers.
What happens to my Cox Homelife equipment?
Cox Homelife was a closed system built to work only with Cox's own service. In most homes, that means the touchscreen panel, cameras and many sensors can't simply be handed over to another company and kept running. When Cox support ends, that equipment stops being a security system.
That isn't your fault. Cable companies design bundled security this way. It's also exactly why Alarm Central installs Alarm.com systems: an open, industry-leading platform used by thousands of independent security professionals, so you're never locked to a cable bill again.
During your free consultation, an Alarm Central technician will look at what you have now and tell you honestly what, if anything, can be reused. Then we'll design a replacement that covers every door, window and camera Cox was protecting, and usually more.

Why Orange County Cox customers are switching to Alarm Central
Cox Homelife was one product inside a cable company. Security is the only thing Alarm Central does, and we've been doing it here since 1955.
Family owned since 1955
Not a national call center or a cable add-on. Alarm Central is a local, family-run company that has protected Orange County homes and businesses for generations.
Monitoring that never stops
Our partnership with NMC, a leader in 24/7 alarm monitoring, means burglary, fire, panic and power-loss signals get a fast, professional response every hour of every day.
Technology you aren't locked into
As an authorized Alarm.com provider, we install the same smart security platform trusted nationwide, and it isn't tied to your internet or TV provider.
A live rep every time you call
Call during business hours and a real Alarm Central customer service rep picks up. No AI, no phone tree, no waiting on hold for a call center.
Installed by our own local team
Our technicians design, install, test and support your system from our Irvine office, so help is close by when you need it.
How to switch from Cox Homelife to Alarm Central
Most switches are simple, and we handle nearly all of it for you.
Call or contact us
Tell us you're a Cox Homelife customer so we can apply your switch discount. A quick conversation about your home and what Cox installed is all we need to start.
Get a free consultation and estimate
We'll review your current Cox setup, tell you what can and can't be reused, and design a replacement that covers everything you had.
We install before Cox goes dark
An Alarm Central technician installs and tests your new system, ideally before your Cox service ends, so there's no gap in protection.
Cancel Cox Homelife and control it all from one app
Once your new system is monitored and running, cancel Homelife with Cox. Your internet service is separate and isn't affected. Then manage everything from the Alarm.com app.

Cox Homelife FAQs
When does Cox Homelife end?
Cox has told customers it will support existing Homelife accounts until October 22, 2026. Cox stopped accepting new Homelife customers in 2024 and does not allow the service to be transferred. Check your email from Cox for the date that applies to your account.
Will my Cox Homelife alarm still be monitored after support ends?
You should not count on it. Once Cox stops supporting Homelife, alarms may sound in your home but nobody will be monitoring them or dispatching police and fire. Alarm Central can have a professionally monitored replacement in place before that happens.
Can I reuse my Cox Homelife equipment with Alarm Central?
Cox Homelife equipment was built for Cox's own system, so most of it, including the panel and cameras, typically can't be reused. During your free consultation we'll check what you have and tell you honestly if anything can carry over.
Does Alarm Central offer a discount for Cox Homelife customers?
Yes. Alarm Central offers an exclusive switch-over discount to former Cox Homelife customers in Orange County. Call 949-768-7768 or contact us online to learn what you qualify for.
Can Alarm Central replace my Cox cameras, doorbell and smart locks too?
Yes. Alarm Central replaces every part of a Cox Homelife system: monitoring, panel, door and window sensors, motion detectors, indoor and outdoor cameras, video doorbell, smart locks, thermostat, lighting, life-safety sensors and the mobile app, all on the Alarm.com platform.
Do I need Cox internet to use Alarm Central?
No. Alarm Central systems use cellular communication and work with any internet provider. Your security is no longer tied to your cable or internet bill.
Will canceling Cox Homelife affect my Cox internet?
No. Homelife and Cox internet are separate services. Canceling or losing Homelife does not cancel your internet service.
Will I talk to a real person when I call Alarm Central?
Yes. Every time you call during business hours, a live Alarm Central customer service rep answers the phone. Not AI and not an automated phone tree.
Who monitors Alarm Central systems?
Alarm Central partners with NMC, a leader in 24/7 security monitoring. Trained operators respond to burglary, fire, panic and other signals around the clock, and two-way voice lets them speak with you through your panel.
